Hesperia’s award-winning Roe Highway Logistic Park (ROE) has continued to perform strongly throughout 2022.
In May this year, ROE was announced as the recipient of the Urban Development Institute of Australia’s (UDIA) National Environmental Excellence award, recognising its outstanding response to conservation and environmental sustainability.
Hesperia Director, Judd Dyer, said “the awards are a fantastic recognition of our continued focus on sustainability, and are one of the key reasons companies are attracted to ROE.”
“Our commitment to sustainability aligns with our tenants’ approach to minimising their operations’ imprint on the environment. This year, we completed the construction of Sandvik’s 6 Star Green Star warehouse – the first in WA. ROE is also on target to becoming the state’s first carbon neutral industrial estate.”
Stage 4 of ROE was released in September, with only two spec warehouses remaining. The lots will be constructed using low-carbon building materials to maintain Hesperia’s commitment to exploring avenues that reduce, capture or reverse carbon emissions.
Both national and international organisations have relocated their operations to ROE throughout 2022 including Sinopec and RSEA. Mainfreight have commenced construction of their ~21,000sqm warehouse, with a 1,500sqm office over a 5.6ha site. Due for completion in June 2023, their warehouse will feature the Mainfreight blue steel and a large internal cool room. Total Tyres and Sullair (a Hitachi Group Company) will also join the estate next year.
Hesperia’s vision is to create a new benchmark for sustainability within the industrial property sector. This strong commitment has attracted investment from Charter Hall, who became a partner in ROE during 2022. The industrial estate will continue to grow and lead the industrial property sector throughout 2023, with a strong emphasis on achieving carbon neutrality.
